COMMUNITY OUTREACH & EVENTS

Heroes Of Our History

Art Society dedicates the month of February to honoring the heroes of our history, celebrating their integrity, bravery, and sacrifices.

The gallery showcased artwork accompanied by informative biographies, allowing the community to engage with and learn about these remarkable figures as they viewed the exhibits.

In collaboration with En-Visionary Studios and The Market by Macy’s in McDonough, Art Society brought history to life through a silent museum experience for local youth. Each event highlighted four distinguished heroes, with team members embodying their achievements in a powerful, interactive display. Youth participants had the opportunity to engage with these historical figures and earn prizes by answering trivia questions.

A WONDERLAND TOY DRIVE

On December 12th, 2022, Art Society partnered with Morrow City, HUMS, and Shades of Amber to distribute thousands of toys to children in the South Atlanta area. The event featured complimentary hot chocolate and face painting, providing fun and entertainment for the kids as they explored the inspiring Art Exhibit curated by Art Society.

PAINTING FACES

"I love seeing the excitement in children’s eyes when they realize they can be anything they dream of."

— She Wood

As the CEO of Art Society, She Wood is dedicated to giving back to the community, setting aside time each month to inspire and uplift young creatives. She regularly hosts pop-up art tables, providing a space for children to freely express themselves through art. Offering free painting sessions is one of her favorite ways to encourage creativity and self-expression.

A GIRL THAT WOOD

She Wood and Art Society have partnered with Alexis Jones to raise awareness about mental and physical health for young girls who have survived violence.

This partnership highlights the award-winning program, A Girl That Wood, which creates private, healing-centered events where young girls can escape life’s stresses. Through therapeutic art activities, we inspire and empower them to dream beyond their circumstances.

At each event, the girls are pampered by professional makeup and hairstylists and learn DIY beauty hacks for self-care. Every session concludes with the creation of a vision or dream board, encouraging them to envision a bright and hopeful future.

STOP THE VIOLENCE

Art Society proudly sponsors numerous events in collaboration with organizations such as Voices of Black Mothers United, HUMS, and Girls Got Power, striving to bring awareness to the urgent need to end violence in our communities.

"There are too many innocent children dying. We need to stop the violence."
— She Wood

At the heart of Art Society’s mission is the commitment to strengthening communities and challenging the belief that violence is ever an option.

No crime can justify the loss of a child’s life. Too often, innocent lives are taken, and even worse, we fail to consider the loved ones left behind. Art Society and our partners remain dedicated to shining a light on these tragedies, advocating for change, and fostering hope for a safer future.

ART THERAPY

Art Society frequently opens its doors and resources to provide a therapeutic outlet for survivors of violence. Whether coping with the loss of a loved one or navigating the aftermath of a tragic event, we are here to offer support and healing. It is important to remember—you are not alone.

WE GOT YOU

Artez dedicates time from his busy schedule to mentor and guide aspiring young creatives, helping them develop professional and original content to promote and monetize their craft.

"We were created to create!"
— Artez

"I believe knowledge should be free.
Knowledge is a tool—it's up to the individual to use it, but gaining access to it shouldn't be the hard part."
— She Wood

PROJECT ADVANCE THE YOUTH

Project Advance The Youth (PAY) was founded in Clayton County by She Wood, with a mission to empower at-risk teens and foster youth. This program provides free art classes, writing workshops, and videography lessons, offering a creative outlet and valuable skill development.

Since its launch, Art Society has helped many young individuals kickstart their own brands by providing free logo designs and opportunities to sell consignment-based products, making it easier for them to monetize their talents and turn their creativity into success.

HEALING A COMMUNITY

Art Society is committed to using its platform to advocate for ending violence in inner-city communities while creating opportunities for youth in urban areas. Every chance we get, we strive to empower and uplift the next generation.

"Keeping them busy and providing access to the tools they need to succeed is the fastest way to heal our communities.

Our youth will ultimately become our politicians and lawmakers—if we invest in them now, they will be equipped to build a stable and promising future."

— She Wood

ART IS EVERYTHING

Art has a unique way of expanding the mind. Have you ever met a closed-minded artist? No—because they don’t exist. Creativity requires an open mind and an unlimited vision. Artists are among the most important people in the world, shaping perspectives and emotions through their work.

"Art is personal. It reflects the artist’s perception—how beautiful, how ugly, how frightening an experience was. And when you can feel that same emotion just by looking at a piece, that makes it all the more powerful."

— She Wood
